MEMORIAL WEEKEND EVENTS GRANT COUNTY Saturday May 23rd 2015 VA National Cemetery Marion Come help place flags on Veteran’s graves, 08:30 a.m. snacks, flag placements start at 09:00 am. Estates of Serenity (IOOF) cemetery Marion Come help place flags on Veteran’s graves. Free breakfast for volunteers from 09:00-10:00 a.m. at the American Legion Post 10, flag placements start at 10:00 a.m. Gardens of Memory Cemetery Marion On Saturday May 23rd there will be a Memorial Ceremony at the cemetery beginning at 11:00 a.m. Sunday May 24th 2015 Memorial Ceremony – Van Buren Memorial Ceremony at the Van Buren public library at 10:45 a.m., there will be hotdogs and hamburgers at American Legion Post 368 following the ceremony. Monday May 25th 2015 – MEMORIAL DAY Memorial Ceremony - Marion VA National Cemetery There will be a Memorial ceremony at 11:00 a.m.; guest speaker will be Dr. Marion Bush Jr. Memorial Ceremony - Jonesboro There will be a Memorial ceremony at 1:00 p.m. at 1st and Waters Street in Jonesboro conducted by American Legion Post #95 Jonesboro. Memorial Service - Matthews There will be a Memorial ceremony at the Matthews cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Patriot guard members and the Mississinewa Valley Brass will be attending. Memorial Service – Marion The Military cannon crew from the “Mississinewa 1812” living history program will fire a salute during a 2:00p.m. ceremony at the Battle of Mississinewa memorial sculpture along River road south of the Matter Park entrance. American Legion Post #10 Marion They are having free hot dogs and brats from 10:00 a.m. to closing. You must be a member or be accompanied by a member.
